We met Tim and Cheryl Maloney at the Monkey Bar in Homosassa for lunch. It's called the Monkey Bar because there is an island in the middle of the Homosassa River which has three spider monkeys living on it and the bar has a good view of the island. The monkeys aren't naturally there but maintained there as a tourist attraction. Tim had heard of the place and wanted to try it. Turns out they currently only have a pizza menu and we were all in the mood for fresh seafood. We walked about a block down the river to a place called McRae's and it was perfect. We had baskets of fried fish, shrimp, french fries, coleslaw and beer. We found a table out of the sun and in a nice breeze and ate, drank and visited. A great time. Afterwards we took a little walk and revisited the Monkey Bar to get a better look at the island. Again, a great day!
