Merry Christmas
Yesterday was a different Christmas Eve this year because it is the first year the entire family was not together in one place. We were all together on Thanksgiving instead but last night we were at Mike's and skyped with Jeff and family. We had hidden their gifts at their house before we left after Thanksgiving. During the skype call, Alesa texted them a 5 verse poem one verse at a time to lead them to the hiding place. They did find them in Alesa's hiking vest she leaves behind in Arizona in their guest room closet. Bailey texted a nice note later thanking us and telling us how much it reminded him of how we used to put together such "hunts" together for them to find their presents when they were younger. Back in Pennsylvania we had a wonderful Christmas Eve with Mike and family. We took the family out for breakfast at the Bonnet Lane. Alesa went with Mike for Arthur's daily walk and Lisa and the girls started preparing a 7 fishes dinner. Alesa and the girls then polished fingernails while Mike and I finished a trailer kit he was building for his father-in-law. After a delicious 7 fishes dinner we skyped with Jeff and family, exchanged presents and played "Ticket to Ride". It was a great day even if different than the past ones. Things do change! Today Mike and family had a couple of family Christmas parties to go to so we went to Shannondell to visit and have brunch with Bob & Ann Goodman before driving through the old neighborhood in Exton. Did not get a chance to visit with the Ken & Sue Schwed this year as they are spending Christmas with their daughter and her family in DC. We are now back at Mikes recovering from some hectic days. Tomorrow we are going to Erie to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary at the scene of the crime.
