The Moron Pandemic
Covid cases are spiking in the area. Walmarts in the area are closing because of high rates for the employees. Probably short term while they clean and reinstitute precautions. Our governor is a moron but I've named this phase for the morons who will not vaccinate and the worst part is they won't social distance. I really don't care if they want to kill themselves off but we want this thing to be over and get on with our lives. Not really happy about what this says about a large percentage of Americans. Craig and Janet's daughter Kate and her family are in town from Denver for her daughter to compete in a wake board competition at a cable park in Lakeland. We did watch her ride on a live stream. We were headed down on Tuesday for a visit when neighbor Dan called to say he had contact with a person who tested positive and had symptoms for covid. Everybody in the scenario has been vaccinated but I played golf with the Dan on Sunday and he wanted us to be aware of the situation. Everyone we were going to visit had been vaccinated except the grandkids. We discussed the situation with Craig and family and they were okay with the visit but we did not want to risk exposing anyone so we decided to delay our visit for at least a day. Dan was being tested and should have the results the next day. We went down Wednesday afternoon and did some shopping at the outlets near their place and would decide what to do since I had not really been very near Dan during golfing and we could at least mask for a short visit. As we finished shopping, Dan called to say his result was negative so we had a great dinner and visit with Craig, Janet, Kate, Chuck, Morgan, CJ, Connor, Zach, Cathy, Jamie and Gabe. To add to the stress Wednesday evening I had a crown come off a front tooth but was able to keep it on using Fixodent until I had a dentist permanently replace it on Thursday. Had to take the Explorer to the Ford dealer for them to review the corrosion on the leading edge of the hood. They checked it out and took pictures to submit to Ford and they feel it will be replaced under warranty. Alesa really enjoyed playing water volleyball with a panda head beachball while we were at Jeff's so, the other day, when I saw an Echo Dot in the form of a panda head, I had to buy it for her. It is in the bedroom and she has found relaxing sleep sounds which she plays all night and we are both sleeping so much better. It turned out to be a fantastic investment and she is quite happy with it. Alesa will be flying to Maine for a week to visit Laura on the 17th and we will be heading to France for a two week cruise in October, fingers crossed. Viking has notified us that the cruise is on and told us the covid hoops we will have to jump through.
