Mount Dora

November 26, 2017

The alternate activity in case of rain on Black Friday was to go to the movies. But the sun came out and dried up all the rain and Alesa missed out. So, I took her to see 'Murder on the Orient Express' yesterday morning. It was well done. Met Mike and family last night in Mt. Dora for their Christmas lighting celebration where they have entertainment followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree and all of the city decorations. The downtown streets were blocked off and there were tons of people. The Abbates have a friend who let us park a few blocks from downtown so, while parking was at a premium, we had no problem. We met Mike and family and the Abbates after they ate downtown and watched most of the entertainment. But, given the major traffic congestion, we left early to avoid the sudden rush out. Even so traffic was very heavy and we managed to get behind a large bus who had major problems negotiating the narrow streets and the numerous street closings. But, we made it out before the crowd and had managed to spend a bit more time with Mike and family before they flew home this morning. Today Alesa was back to platform tennis and I was back to golf before watching the Eagles and eating leftovers.
