Moving Day

June 19, 2019

Yesterday Jeff and Danielle signed mortgage papers and today we were waiting for the keys before they could move in. Closing in Arizona is quite different than what we are used to: everybody sitting at a table, signing papers, exchanging money and keys. Jeff signed papers yesterday and now he has to wait for some other process(?) before the realtor hands over the keys. Nobody could tell us when that would be so we kept busy in the morning by hiking at the 'The Hole in a Rock' and touring Arizona State which Bailey will be attending in the fall. We checked out of the hotel at noon and headed to the new house. We could only see the outside and the backyard so we did some sightseeing in the area. When we got about as far away as we were going to get the trucking company called. The driver was at the house waiting for us. We headed back and verified the trailer placement and he opened the trailer and left at about 4. As luck would have it, the realtor showed up with the key and we could get into the house. So we started to unload. Jeff told them to pick up the trailer in the morning so we unloaded and finished with flashlights. We did finish but the plan to unload directly to the final location for each item was abandoned and the garage was chock full. The Direct TV also showed up and installed that day. We did get to end the day in the pool but tomorrow will be another busy day.
