Museums

August 17, 2011

Today we rode the bikes up into town and visited the Erie Art Museum as well as the Erie Historical Museum. They were working on the Cashier's house part of the museum so we did not get to see the pot that Dr. Wallace used to boil Anthony Wayne's body in to separate his bones to be buried at his home Waynesboro in Paoli, PA. We then rode up to Cougars/Uncle Nick's Greek fried chicken for lunch and to visit with Jackie. She manages the place and we had a very good lunch, a nice visit with Jackie and she gave us a tour of the night club. On the way home we rode in State Street because it is blocked off as they prepare the tents, stages and walkways for 'Celebrate Erie' which is being held this weekend.
