New Year's in Maine
We left home on Tuesday morning and arrived at Sugarloaf that afternoon and are staying with Steve & Laura at their condo. On Wednesday Steve went skiing early while Alesa & Laura went to the fitness center. It was too icy to ski so Steve and I walked around the village. That evening we all went to the Foster's for New Year's Eve. We all had a great time visiting with friends we have met over the years and watched the fireworks on the mountain. The party broke up at 10 (We are getting old) and I was the only one up to watch the ball drop. The temperature dropped to -10 last night and the lifts were open for a short time this morning before they were closed due to the wind. The apartments on the third floor of the condo had an open house this morning and the food was great and attendance was good because no one was on the mountain. They didn't even want to go outside to walk their dogs. At last night's party they had glasses which showed a snowman around each point of light. The Christmas lights were fun and the fireworks were a real treat with dancing snowmen all over the night sky. And those were NOT the glasses which held alcohol.
