No more BLT
We spent New Years's Eve at Jeffs. They were all going out to parties and we were happy to spend the night and watch the dogs. I stayed up until midnight and Alesa kind of did. She was in bed but reading. After Jeff converted their guest room into Danielle's office, they added a couch which converts to a king size bed. So that is where we spent the night with the four dogs, of course. Fendi was terrified by the fireworks and was in the bed until they ended and slept on the floor. But the other three spent the night in our bed. Tim above Alesa's pillow, Nina under the covers by her knees and Olive between our heads. While Alesa complained, she was in her glory. Alesa has had her x-ray, bloodwork, EKG and is cleared for her shoulder surgery on the 28th. She is now buying clothes to wear while she is in a sling (6 weeks).
I had my third follow up meeting with my surgeon and all looks well and he has cleared me from my BLT restrictions (within reason). We still go to the gym 4 or 5 times a week and I am happy that I will finally be able to do the therapies that require bending and/or twisting. I am still limited to 40 to 50 pounds of lifting but that's nothing I want to do anyway. I am glad that the mild bending and twisting I did underneath the guest bathroom sink to install power for the bidet didn't cause a problem and happy that the main bath already had an outlet close. My appointment was in the morning so we decided to have breakfast out and wanted something different. I found a cafe at the Chandler Municipal Airport called the Hangar Cafe and though we would give it a try. It was awesome and had excellent breakfast and lunch diner type food. It was hard to find and inside the flightline but there were a few signs pointing the way or we would still be looking. We parked outside the fence and walked through a locked gate (open during the cafe hours), across the tarmac by parked airplanes, in front of a maintenance hangar and into the cafe. Our food was excellent and the ambience was outstanding (especially for an old pilot). We will be going back. Now we are preparing to pick up Steve and Laura at the airport tomorrow night for their two week stay.
