No Pictures for now

January 23, 2022

The blog has lost its connection to Flickr, where I store all of my pictures. So, I will add pictures to new posts when that connection issue gets resolved. Alesa will be having cataract surgery on her left eye on Wednesday. If all goes as well as her right eye, her vision should be perfect in a few weeks. She has noticed a marked improvement in her right eye even before it is done healing. The only drawback is that she can't do anything strenuous which rules out much of our normal activities, so she is bored. Alesa being bored is not a good thing because she fills in the time by 'fixing' everything to keep herself busy or maybe her eyesight is so much better that she now sees the 'problems'. In most cases that means keeping me busy as well. She has gone through all the closets cleaning them out and reorganizing them. In the process a lot of my 'stuff' has become obsolete and that keeps me busy as she wants me to believe I am making the decisions. She rearranged the bedroom and I am the moving man. Had to replace the faucet in the kitchen sink and negotiating the installation under a sink is not fun. The faucet had to be black to match our counters. She is having Craig build us a sofa table for behind the couch and I had to order and assemble the chairs. The moving part is yet to come. She has redone my office and I am still looking for things. Moved and cleaned out the bookshelves and gave many of our books to the church thrift shop. Had to order and assemble a printer stand as the printers had lost their spots. I think she will be heading to the garage next. Actually, I am not complaining as most of these are good things that needed to be done. Especially if it keeps her happy, LOL. Cold here today and are expecting a freeze tonight. Golfed this morning and it was cold but still comfortable as there was very little wind. Held the January Erie Club meeting on Friday the 14th and had a great turnout, about 110 people vs the 80 expected. Set up a few more tables and we were good to go. We had subs and horse races and I called the races. We set up six lanes and have volunteer jockeys. People bet a $1on their favorites and I roll six dice to move the horses down the track. We had four races plus a best hat competition. The winning payouts ranged from $3 to $7.
