To Phoenixville

July 27, 2024

Flew out of Phoenix at 7 AM on the 23rd on a flight to Philly. Rented a car and drove to Phoenixville to see Mike. Felt bad that we couldn't be with him while he was going through his surgery but are very glad to be with him now. He is doing very well but still requires rest. He continues to work from home so we gave him time to work and rest. Annika as with us for the first two days and Mike's girlfriend, Coleen was with us each evening. We took Annika to Baldwin's book barn one day and we all went out to dinner each evening. We were staying in town so we went to Steel City every morning for breakfast. It's our favorite place for breakfast and was just across the street from the motel. On Wednesday, Mike learned that a bid he had made on a house was accepted and he was elated that he was going to be a homeowner. It is 5 houses down from his current apartment and we are so happy for him and the fact that he will continue to live in Phoenixville. He has settled well there over the past two years and has made many friends in the community. It is a small community perfect for an artist who likes the outdoors and is close to his farm. We toured the house with him on Thursday and it is a large three-story older duplex in good shape with 5 bedrooms and plenty of space to hang art (and visitors). One plan is to make the first floor an art gallery. We had an awesome visit with Mike, Annika and Coleen and flew to Tampa on Friday.
