Platform Tennis Racing

April 16, 2019

Steve and Laura are in Ormond Beach with her sister Betsey and Steve called for a day of golf. Ed booked a course for us and Steve, Ed, neighbor Mike and I played 18 at Spruce Creek. Last night the Platform tennis Club had its meeting and we had horse racing. I borrowed the Erie Club's equipment and ran the event . I called the races while Alesa helped man the betting window. It was a huge hit and everyone had a grand time. Today we went into Orlando for Alesa's 3 month checkup and she was cleared to do anything she wanted with her new knee. She is doing great and has been doing everything with her knee for quite a while; gardening, platform tennis, water volleyball, pickleball and golfing to name a few. Our garden is doing well and we have been eating fresh peas for a few weeks now. As you can see in the picture, the plants are over 7 foot tall. Getting warmer now so the plants probably won't last much longer. The tomatoes and peaches are coming along and our effort is focused on keeping the birds from pecking holes in them as they ripen. We have been receiving daily phone calls from Jeff as he goes around the world on a 3 week business trip. (London, Hamburg, Paris, Geneva, Shanghai and Tokyo. including a number of different cities in China and Japan) Many very exciting and humorous stories but he is getting tired and wants to get home.
