Pope's Palace

October 12, 2021

In 1309 the pope moved from Rome to Avignon and build a 3+ mile wall around the city, a palace for the pope, mansions for the cardinals and instigated many other improvements over the church’s 68 or so years there before moving back to Rome. We spent the morning walking through Avignon to the ‘Palace of the Pope’s for a tour. Then back through Avignon to the river and our boat for lunch where our luggage was waiting for us in our cabin. WiFi is very weak on board so I will posting the blog with only one picture (if possible) and adding many, many more pictures as the internet and my time will allow. Signal is stronger in port. Also trying to use my fitbit to capture my walks on Strava but I keep forgetting quite often. So I usually turn it on when I remember and catch some of it to record the general location.
