Prescott

January 7, 2023

Stopped in Carefree and Cave Creek on the way to Prescott. We walked the town center of Carefree and drove through a neighborhood of mountainside homes in Cave Creek. Very nice towns and homes. We checked into the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Prescott around noon and walked a few blocks to a restaurant called 'The P.U.B.' for lunch. We were not disappointed because they had all the dishes you would expect at a pub in Ireland. We ordered many of them along with Guinness and were not disappointed as they were all very good. We also enjoyed the waiter, Gunter, with his Star Wars stories and jokes. We then walked off our lunch with a long walk downtown. After a rest Jeff and I enjoyed the outdoor hot tub. We met another guy in the hot tub and were surprised to learn that he lives in Jeff's neighborhood, The Bridges in Gilbert. He was visiting family and friends as he had grown up in Prescott. We then headed back to the PUB to have the sticky toffee pudding that we did not have room for after lunch. But alas, they had sent the cook home early because business was slow. We walked into downtown to see the holiday lights on the courthouse and to look for another place to eat and drink. Places close early in the off-season and no one had sticky toffee pudding so we ended up at Colts Smokehouse much to Jeff's enjoyment. We didn't eat much as we were still pretty full from lunch. Then off to bed.
