Ripley

September 30, 2007

Today was a beautiful fall day.  Sunny with a few puffy clouds, 74 degrees and no humidity.  After a lazy morning we drove to Ripley and stopped to see Janet's parents but no one was home so we drove into town as we expected them to be at Meeder's.  We saw Beth and Sara getting into their cars from church so we stopped and said hello.  We then went to see Mary Teemley but she wasn't at home so we went across the street to Meeder's and visited with Janet's parents while they tried to finish lunch.   We stopped back at Mary's but she still wasn't home so we went golfing at Lakeside.  For those who have golfed there I have included a picture down the first fairway and back across the bridge to the clubhouse.  Niether Alesa nor I hit a ball into the grapes but we did walk the rows and found a few balls.  The grapes were excellent, a great taste from our past.  Sure did bring back a lot of memories and the sticky juice gave us a good grip on the clubs.  We then went to visit Tracy but no one was home.  Maybe the blog warns people we are coming so I may start throwing in red herrings so we might catch more people at home.  North East was having their Harvest and Wine festival so we drove around the square and through Gravel Pit Park where they were having a motorcycle show.  We ate dinner at Barbato's in Wesleyville and stopped at Bob's on the way back.  You guessed it, they weren't home.  We are back at the trailer getting ready for the Eagles on Sunday Night Football.  Congrats to the Phillies for winning the division.
