Rome
Got up extra early this morning for breakfast and a long bus ride to Rome (90 minutes). We are docked about 40 miles south in Civitavecchia. It was a nice ride with a stop at a rest area. (The biggest complaint by the groups has been - not enough bathroom breaks.) We then rode around central Rome to see all the major sites. Kudos to the bus driver since the traffic was terrible. We then parked at the Vatican and had an hour or so free time. It was crowded and the lines for the Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica were too long for us, so we just walked around and enjoyed the views. Alesa and I did stop at a cafe for some coffee which was another one of her punch-list items. Then a relaxing ride back to the ship just in time for a lunch of burgers (vegetarian for Alesa), fries and onion rings at the pool grill then topped it off with gelatos at the World Cafe (plus a few other items I could not resist). Now for exercising and resting before dinner tonight at Manfredi's, the other specialty restaurant, before trivia and bar hopping. The weather continues to be great even with lousy forecasts.
