Saguaro Lake
Jeff worked a bit this morning and then we headed to Saguaro Lake Park about 32 miles north of here. Bailey had mentioned that he was cliff diving there with some friends from school and Jeff was interested in checking it out and it was also a place we wanted to see. We walked around the marina a bit and took a while to figure out that our senior lifetime national park pass would cover the fee. Jeff picked up some literature on boat rentals as well as water ski equipment. We then took an overland hike along the water to the diving spot. It was quite precarious and I was a little worried about Alesa but, with a little help, she did fine. When we reached the spot Jeff scaled the rocks while we waited. He waved from the top of the cliff and then we all hiked back. Not exactly sure from what level Bailey dove but I am sure it was not from the very top. On the way home we drove to the base of the dam on the Salt River. It was very nice and there was a 'dude' ranch near the base which looked like it would be a lot of fun. The river overlook was beautiful and we were very impressed with the effects the setting sun had on the colors of the canyon and the surrounding cliffs. We then hurried back because Jeff & Danielle were heading to a rodeo with friends this evening. Bridget was going also but not with them.
