Saguaro National Park

May 14, 2007

Starting with a leisurely morning where we had a chance to catch up with finances and financial planning, we were off to the Saguaro National Park west of Tucson. On the way we went by the Old Tucson movie studio in the desert where they have filmed many movies. It wasn't open yet but we saw as much as we wanted to see. Then to Saguaro where the desert and hills are covered with cacti. -What's the difference between a cactus and a school bus? On a cactus all the little pricks are on the outside.- We traveled the back roads through the park and enjoyed the desert, the draws and the valley views. We could see Kitt Peak Observatory on the mountain across the valley. Alesa especially enjoyed the pictographs on the rocks. On the way back we ate lunch at a Jack in the Box because we used to eat at them often when we lived in El Paso. Then back to the resort to Fedex some papers and then to the pool for exercise and relaxation. We just finished dinner and I plan on returning to the pool for a starlight swim (after a margurita or 2). Alesa just wished me luck, so I guess she is not going. Probably something good on TV tonight. We will be leaving in the morning but are not exactly sure where we are headed.
