St. Augustine
Today we drove up to St. Augustine, one of our favorite places, to show the kids some history and to test the idea of the four of us being in one car for an extended period. (We all passed although it was a little iffy at times with Alesa) We took the Old Town Trolley tour around town and got off at the fort to visit it and to walk the old town. We got back on the trolley to the Fountain of youth and the Old Jail museum. Then back on the trolley to the car. We ate at McDonalds and the highlight was when a customer walked in with a Glock pistol strapped to his side. Florida allows open carry. It was not scary but it was a little disconcerting. Someone did call the police and they came but he checked out OK. Alesa didn't take her eyes off him the whole time. We drove back through town and across the bridge to the lighthouse and continued down A1A on the coast and stopped at a beach in Flagler county and the kids had a great time swimming. We got back home around 7 and are all settled in.
