Standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona

May 20, 2007

We had planned on taking the Navajo trail into Colorado but since we had done that with the kids years ago, we decided to take a short trip and visit the Petrified Forest tomorrow.  So we packed up the trailer and moved to the OK RV Park in Holbrook, AZ just 85 miles away.  We took I-40 and sometimes Rt 66 to the east by the Meteor Crater and through Winslow.  We were going to get our picture taken on the corner in Winslow but the 70's Eagles song used Winslow, Arizona only because it kind of rhymed with corner.  So we went to Holbrook and had an ice cream cone on Route 66 instead.  We had our kicks.  We are going to the Petrified Forest tomorrow but the RV park has about  a dozen logs on display and the whole park is paved with loose stone which is mostly petrified wood.
