Yesterday we drove through the mountains to Chama, NM and today we drove through the mountains to Taos.  The roads were windy but empty.  The aspens have new leaves and the grass is new and bright green.  The scenery is spectacular.  In Chama we walked the town, hiked into an elk viewing area and watched the narrow gauge steam train come into town.   No, we didn't see any elk.  In Taos we went on a tour of the Taos Pueblo, drove around town, hiked above the Rio Grande gorge and went to the San Francisco de Asis church.
