Tucson and Tombstone
Yesterday was a relaxing and 'shopping for Thanksgiving' day. This morning we dropped Jeff off at the airport for a day trip to Seattle and we headed south to Tombstone. When we RV'ed in Tucson years ago we passed the Tombstone turnoff on our way from New Mexico and, once settled in Tucson, didn't bother to go back. Today we did want to get back to Tucson and figured we might as well do Tombstone. We had a good trip down and were surprised by all the cotton fields just north of Tucson. They were just harvesting the cotton and storing it in large bales, some like the large round hay bales up north and some in colorful tarped rectangular bales which looked like semi trailers. It started to rain when we reached Tombstone but didn't rain hard until we were walking in the main street under covered wooden sidewalks. It rained most of the way back to Jeff's, sometimes very hard. They don't get much rain down here so the water doesn't drain well and settles on the road which made for a tense ride back. We did stop for a while in Tucson but it has changed quite a bit since we were here last. We did drive through downtown/old town while it was not raining. We also tried to get pictures of the large hay bales but it was raining hard and we just got the tops in a distance.
