Tucson, Arizona

May 12, 2007

We left Deming this morning and followed I-10 to the west.  We crossed the continental divide and then entered Arizona.  We gained another hour because, although we are still in the Mountain time zone, Arizona does not observe daylight savings time so they didn't 'spring forward' with the rest of us.  It was a short travel day as we went just over 200 miles.  We settled into the Voyager RV resort at about 1 in the afternoon.  It is a fantastic place and has homes, modular homes, permanent trailers and RV's.  It has 6 pool tables in a billiard room, Bocce courts, a par 3 golf course, miniature golf course, putting green, horseshoe pits, 4 pickleball courts (like tennis with paddles and a wiffle ball), 3 swimmimg pools, 2 hot tubs, 2 saunas, exercise rooms, shuffleboard courts, softball fields, 5 tennis courts, ping-pong tables, 2 volleyball courts and a ballroom.  Many classes with the equipment to support them, lapidary and stone polishing, woodworking, ceramics, sewing and jewelry making.  After visiting town and coming back to eat at the restaurant here we spent much of the evening in the pool.  Alesa is looking forward to the aquatics classes.  It was about 100 degrees but, believe it or not, without the humidity, it is not bad if you don't overdo the sun and get plenty to drink.
