Twosday

February 22, 2022

It is February 22, 2022. better known as 'twosday'. Alesa had an Echo and a stress Echo last week at the cardiologist's and everything is fine. No reason for the tests other than it has been a while, if ever. Just a few PVC's which is normal but she is wearing a holter monitor for a week just to check it out. The monitor is a stick-on EKG which she will mail in at the end of the week. If it lasts that long, as it came off the first day when she sweated while working in the garden. She called and just stuck it back on. Last Wednesday I had a cough show up and Thursday I went into Afib with a rapid heart rate. Later that night it got a little worse so I went to the emergency room because, the last time this happened, my doctor said I should have gone to the hospital right away. When I got there I tested positive for covid. After spending the night trying to get my heart rate down, they decided to admit me and I had to wait until Friday night before a bed cleared up. I was put on the covid floor with no visitors and I couldn't leave the room. I felt fine and there is nothing worse than being in the hospital when you feel good and have to stay in your room, wearing a heart monitor and a backless gown. The list of indignities goes on. The covid case is mild and all I have is a cough. But the consensus is that covid caused me to go into Afib. After my heart rate came down a little they sent me home. I got home this morning but will have to quarantine until Sunday and continue on the drugs to get my heart rate down and resolve the Afib. Glad to be done on Sunday as they will be starting to install our floors on Monday and the Maloney's will be visiting on their way to a rental in Fort Meyers. Alesa will be replacing me in the Sunday golf group for the second time and I had to reschedule my PT appointment to have my shoulder evaluated. Alesa has tested negative twice during this time and I am spending my nights in the guest bedroom. But that is OK because I am also very tired due to covid. Received a call this afternoon from my nephew Chad, his wifle Elena and their 12 year old daughter Mariza. They live in Saint Kitts and Nevis and Mariza is doing a project about my Uncle Eddie who was killed in WWI and they knew I had information about him and his purple heart. It was a good visit and I was able to email them a number of documents and pictures.
