Yesterday we went to the VA medical center in Philadelphia and what a complex it is.  It is very large and in amongst Penn, the Penn Medical Center, the Philadelphia Children's Hospital and Drexel University and the good news is that they will be providing my prescriptions.  After my appointment we met Bob Goodman for lunch and then went to Mike's to pick up Annika for her Birthday weekend.  She has been talking about wanting an amethyst geode for her birthday so we pooled her birthday money with Nana/Papa bucks from last Christmas and went to Bey's Rock shop just north of Boyertown.  It was larger than we expected with 6 or 8 good sized showrooms full of geodes, jewelry, rocks, crystals, etc.  It was like being in a museum.   Anni selected three items and they wrote what each was on a piece of paper:  a piece of an amethyst geode from Uraguay on a wooden stand, dyed agate bookends from Brazil and a skull carved from Aventurine from Africa.  She named it 'Skully' and takes it everywhere with her.  Annika's weekend continues tomorrow and ends with an ice skating session with Ellie, Bailey and Bridget at Ice Line.
