We've been busy

June 19, 2009

We haven’t been posting for the last 2 or so weeks but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been busy.  Two weekends ago we met Jeff and family at the Piston Poppers racetrack just west of Coatesville to watch motocross motorcycle racing.  Bailey is showing an interest and they had racers as young as 4.   Later that week Alesa and friends took the train into town and went on a bus mural tour of Philadelphia.  Last weekend we drove to McGaheysville, Virgina for a few days to attend a memorial service for one of Alesa’s cousins.  Alesa had lived with her and her sisters and brother for a while after she graduated from high school.  This week we had Bailey and Bridget over for a few days because Bailey had his eye on a specific Father’s day gift but no money so Nana suggested some ways he could earn enough for the gift.  They helped us clean the basement and when we stopped at Wal-Mart on the way home the item was on sale for half price.  After we bought the gift Bailey suggested we pay him the remainder in cash.  That nut didn’t fall far from the tree.  We did pay him because there was a binding, verbal contract. Today, we took the train into the city and attended a Philadelphia Orchestra concert at the Kimmel center.  We have kept busy in between time with yard work and house chores as we continue to cut down and prune trees, move walkways, remove fences, remove stumps and plant flowers.  We are also loading the trailer for our trip to Erie for the month of July.  Mike and family will be going up over the fourth and the week after for the Niebauer reunion and Jeff and family will be coming up for a long weekend on about the 16th.
