Winchester

January 12, 2012

Yesterday we took a day trip with the Goodman's to Winchester, Virginia to tour a continuing care retirement community called Winchester-Canterbury. Bob has taken a 6 week sabbatical from work to investigate their future. It is a little early for us but we like the Winchester area and when we told Bob of the research we have done he found an option for them there. It was a great day trip and we had a wonderful time. I drove the truck and we enjoyed being on the road again, even if just for that short time. We toured the town and the facility and both were impressive and are now on the Goodman's retirement radar.
Last Friday we delivered a half dozen kitchen chairs (from Schweds) to Mike and watched (probably should say 'played with')the girls while Mike and Lisa went to a happy hour with Lisa's work associates.
We are preparing for our time in a condo at Peek n'Peak with the kids and grandkids. Jeff and family went with us last year and Mike and family will go this year as well. It will be fun watching all those snow bunnies tearing up the hill as they learn to ski.
We are planning on spending a night in Pittsburg and a night in Erie before going to the Peak next Thursday, when the kids will show up.
