Withlacoochie StateTrail
Today, with the threat of rain, we biked the Withlacoochie trail from Inverness to Floral City and back again for a ride of 14 miles. The trail was paved and level with some small changes in elevation. We drove to Inverness in a rainstorm and Craig and Janet met us there. It had stopped raining and we unloaded the bikes and started out in a slight drizzle which soon stopped. It stayed dry to Floral City but started to rain about three quarters of the way back to Inverness. We stopped until the rain let up but it started up again as we reached the cars. We loaded the bikes and headed to a picnic shelter just as a downpour started. After ten minutes or so it stopped so we headed home with Craig following. We drove through heavy downpours and flooding all the way home but made it safe and sound but a little wet. After a hot meal and a lot of visiting Craig and Janet headed home. We were suppose to golf at about six but cancelled because it was still raining.
