Veterans' Day
Been busy with a lot of little things. Finally put the truck up for sale, on Craigslist and Talk-of-the-Villages classifieds. Got a number a calls and a couple of lowball offers so we'll wait and see what happens.
My crown came in but it didn't fit right so they recasted and reordered so I'll have to go back in a few weeks.
Alesa will have a root canal done at the end of this week.
There was a 'Government Day' at one of the Rec centers a week ago Saturday and we learned a lot from the local government agencies (and got a lot of pencils),
Did nothing special for Veterans' day but did appreciate the well wishes and thoughts from friends and relatives. We did go to the evening celebration down at Brownwood to enjoy the shows. One presentation included kids from the local elementary school and afterwards they walked in the crown and gave handmade thank-you notes the Veterans they saw, very touching.
Alesa has started a tap dancing class at the Lifelong Learning College, has her new tap shoes and is enjoying it: the first two classes anyway.
I was picking up guest passes at the Lake Miona Rec center and there were about 60 people in one of the rooms around a projector showing lyrics and chords. They were all strumming their ukuleles and singing their hearts out. Alesa might be interested in that group.
Thursday was the monthly Erie Club meeting with a pot luck dinner and a magic show. He was good and so was the food.
Craig has had the last 2 Fridays off so he has been coming up here for playtime: pickleball, platform tennis, swimming, shooting, walking and so on.
Yesterday were the all-day Dragon Boat races in Hernando. Alesa drummed for 6 of the races (That's her in the front of boat #4). It was pretty cold in the morning. the first race was a 10 man race and just after they finished Alesa's boat capsized but the water was a lot warmer than the air and everybody offered and provided extra blankets and towels so all was well. Alesa now feels like a seasoned dragon-boater as it was the first time she has been in the water.
