Packed the car on Thursday morning and left around 7 and arrived at the Lumberton, NC Country Inn and Suites around 3:30. We were surprised by all the trees still down in South Carolina. Alesa wanted Panera for her birthday dinner but, alas, they didn't have any of her favorite soups so she settled. Happy Birthday! Arrived at Jeff's around 3:30 slowed by heavy traffic south of DC. It was 24 degrees in the morning and stayed that way for the whole trip. This morning Jeff and Bailey headed out to Blue Mountain for Bailey's ski team but after an hour of stopped traffic due to an accident on icy roads on the northeast extension, they headed back home. It's been raining a wintery mix and the roads are slippery and skiing would not have been very good. They are back home safe and it's just getting above freezing so the roads should clear for any other activity we may want to do.
