Mike's Tailgate

October 2, 2017

We left Florida on Wednesday morning. We were going to leave on Monday but Alesa lost a filling on Saturday and got a crown on Tuesday afternoon. We spent Wednesday night in Lumberton, NC and arrived at Jeff's just before 4 on Thursday and finally met "Tim", their new miniature Dachshund. They call him 'The Accountant' because our financial advisor is named Tim. On Friday Alesa and I shopped at the Lancater outlets while the parents worked and the kids went to school. (Actually, Alesa shopped while I waited.) Saturday morning we all went to Bailey's high school golf team's pancake breakfast and then Chinese Checkers, Penn State football and painting the high spots in the entry hallway. Sunday morning we played tennis with Jeff and Danielle then headed to Mike's tailgate party with Bridget. They had it mostly set up so we had a good chance to visit with them before the crowds came. This year he projected the game on the side of the garage and hung a tarp as a sunblock so the bright light wouldn't block out the picture. We enjoyed the family and visited with people we haven't seen in a while and left at halftime so the family could better enjoy their guests. We got back to Jeff's in time to watch the end of the game and the Eagle's victory.
