Christmas Eve

December 24, 2017

The Christmas party started around 1 and Mike and Lisa arrived before 2 and then all were here. The kids were doing Karaoke downstairs and then the serious eating began. It was decided it was just going to be finger food this year but if you have ever been to an Alesa hosted food event, you've got to know it was a banquet. Many standards but a number of new 'experiments' which all turned out very well. After the major eating (because it never stopped) we had a Chinese checker tournament. Names were drawn and there were three concurrent preliminary games and I was the referee. The three winners; Jeff, Bailey and Bridget moved on to the final which was won by Bridget. She was awarded the prize which was a hat knitted by Alesa on the trip up. We then exchanged gifts. Alesa (Nana) always gives some special additional gifts which this year were scarves she had knitted and Christmas socks. It was then a marathon of Christmas movies, virtual reality games and family fun. Another wonderful family gathering!!
