Rain, Hail and Snow
Been a cool and wet couple of days which is very rare for the Phoenix area. Glad we came back a little early because travel could have been a little iffy. No snow until yesterday in our travel zone. Arizona Snowbowl got 22 inches of snow today so I guess they are going to open tomorrow. Flagstaff is now a winter wonderland. The valley didn't get any snow but plenty of flooding and quite a bit of hail. Kids were sledding down hills on it. Shopped at Sam's yesterday for groceries and a blow up bed for us when Mike and family are here. Really looking forward for all of the family to be together for the holiday. Shopped at Walmart today for groceries to include a 23 pound turkey. It's about 5 miles north of here and we saw a low and very wide rainbow with a snow capped mountain in the distance. Got a picture of the rainbow but the colors did not show very well. Alesa played racquetball with Jeff at LA fitness last night but passed tonight to recover. Jeff now has lakefront property as the rain has filled the overflow ponds behind his house. He has been working from home a bit as well as planning for his pool heater and checking on his car which is getting an engine replacement. For the pool heater, it turns out that the 3/4 inch gas line we ran is not large enough for the size of heater he wants. He does not want to downsize so he has been working with the gas company, pool company, plumber and heater companies for different options to install an 1 1/2 inch gas line. Doesn't look like the pool will be heated by Thanksgiving. The rain has filled his pool to within an inch of the top but that is not a problem.
