Shots & Rockets

February 4, 2021

Yesterday we got up at 5:30 to help neighbor Mike get a vaccine appointment at Publix. Three households were working on it and Alesa's phone hit the jackpot and and was given the opportunity to book an appointment so we called Mike and he came over and entered his information. Marion county was totally booked so we tried for Pasco county and were able to book a time for this morning. Since Craig and Janet live in Pasco county we told Mike we would drive him down and then visit with Craig and Janet. We drove down this morning to one of Craig's neighborhood Publix's and Mike got his first Covid shot. We then stopped at Craig & Janet's and inspected the boat he is building and the bathroom remodel he just finished. Also gave Mike a tour of the teardrop camper Craig had built. We ordered subs from Publix and drove to a local athletic field to launch the rocket we had been unsuccessful with last month. We had two successful launches with the new engines but were still unable to launch with the old engines. Launch videos on Flickr. We picked up the subs and had a nice lunch before heading home. We stopped at Craig's local hobby shop and bought two more rocket engines as well as some extra igniters for the old engines. Probably will head back down with Mike in a month when he gets his second shot and try some more launches then. It was a good day. Also took a picture of the group to send to Becca in Nebraska as today is her birthday.
