Blueberries at Farmer Mike's

June 19, 2025

Off to Phoenixville and the Mainstay Inn by way of the George Washington bridge. We unpacked and walked to Mike’s house and we all walked back to town and had dinner at the Sedona Tap House. It was a hot and humid night so we drove Mike back home and after a short visit went back to the motel to rest after a long day. Annika was to join us but arrived late so we said we would see them in the morning. They joined us for breakfast at Steel City, our favorite café across from the motel. We drove up to Mike’s and he drove us all to his farm to pick blueberries. He has covered them to protect them from the birds and had a bumper crop. We picked the ripe ones while Mike did chores around the farm. After he finished mowing the lawn we went back to town and dinner at Molly Maguires and then to the Pottstown train station to an art gallery to attend an art showing put on by some of Mike’s friends. At Molly's Alesa had fish and chips and I had the three Irish Stew sampler because I could not decide between Bangers and Mash, Shepherd's pie or various Irish stews. We got back late and there was no parking left so I dropped off Alesa and after circling the block a couple of times a spot opened up across the street.
