Phoenixville
Early Friday morning Mike and Annika hiked with a group at Valley Forge park and afterwards we met them for breakfast at G-Lodge. We went back to the motel and checked out since the main street will be blocked off for the weekend starting that afternoon. We will move to the Residence Inn later today. We visited with Ken and Sue Schwed at their home this morning and with Ann Goodman at her home this afternoon. They were two wonderful visits catching up with friends. We also drove through our old neighborhood and stopped to talk with a neighbor, Carlos, who happened to be in his driveway. That evening we went back to Phoenixville and had dinner with Mike and Annika at the Italian restaurant which happened to be in the basement of the motel we just checked out of. Saturday morning we ate breakfast at the motel and then Annika made a blueberry cake and compote at Mike’s house with the berries we had picked. We all then has a rousing game of miniature golf limited to 18 holes due to the heat and humidity. Then dinner at a ramen café downtown before walking a bit. We said our good-byes to Mike and Annika after a great visit and dropped them off at home before an early return to prepare for our auto train ride on Sunday. Many thanks to a Mike and Annika for a truly great visit. We are truly happy for Mike that he has found his people, exactly as the song says.
