Colonial Williamsburg
We settled at Chesapeake Campground in Deep Creek, VA next to the Dismal Swamp canal. We were trying to stay at the First Landing State Park on Cape Henry at the mouth of Chesapeake Bay. There were openings when we called the day before but they only take reservations in person and when we called as we got close they had filled up. Today we drove into Williamsburg, walked through Colonial Williamsburg, shopped at The Pottery, the Prime Outlets, had a stack of pancakes at The Gazebo and used the WiFi at the Dunkin Donuts before braving rush hour traffic through the Tidewater area. I didn’t mind because it wasn’t my problem and it reminded me of just one more reason why I enjoy retirement so much. We made it home in time for Alesa to watch “Bones”. She’s hooked and is a true bone head which is meant in the best possible way.
