Yesterday wss Independence Day and we all went to a picnic. A big thanks to Ray and Debbie Winghart for the invite to their family soiree where we all had an outstanding time. In addition to the food, refreshments and the friendship there were games and favors but we just couldn't last to the fireworks. Bailey won a jar of skiddles for guessing closest to the 1142 skiddles (with a slight bit of help from Uncle Fred Dude) and Anni won a bowl of gummy fish for guessing closest to 68 fish. The kids enjoyed the water balloon toss followed by the inevitable water balloon carnage, egg-on-a-spoon relay race, fill-a-bucket-using-a-sponge relay race and kick ball. Kick ball had its share of bumps and bruises and we were glad we didn't have to call on the any of the 3 medical professionals in attendance. Alesa And I enjoyed visiting with family and friends. The kids slept in the tent last night and went right to sleep, except for Bridget whose knee scrape was itchy.
