Yesterday we picked up Annika for her birthday weekend and today we went to Washington. It was her wish to visit the Smithsonian Natural History Museum, especially the gems, the dinosaurs and the bugs. We started off at the Hope Diamomd, did the gems, the minerals and the rocks, then the dinosaurs and the bones, the ocean and the bugs. In the middle we made a trip to the cafe for lunch and ended the visit at the museum gem store. We made a quick stop at the American History Museum then walked around the mall before heading out. We stopped at Jeff's on the way home since it was on the way and Annika wanted to visit with Bailey and Bridget. Tomorrow we will take Annika home, do some shopping with Elyse and come home to start preparing for the Florida trip in earnest. Alesa and Anni made cake pops last night.
