The Villages - Day 3

November 25, 2012

We have been busy visiting, touring and walking. Today we walked around the new building going on inthe northern part of Paul and Carol's neighborhood. While they weren't working today it was interesting to see the quantity of new homes and the homes in various stages of construction. Last night as we drove out of the neighborhood in the golf cart on the way to dinner at the Havana Country Club, Alesa mentioned that a name in front of one of the houses looked familiar. On our walk this morning we walked by the house since it was 3 or 4 homes down the street from Paul and Carol's. I worked with Ron Kempf at GE in Erie many years ago before he moved to GE in Cleveland, his wife's name was Dot and those were the names on the signpost in front of the house. Back at Paul's we looked up the name in the local phonebook and he was listed but at a different address. It was too much of a coincidence so I called the number and, sure enough, it was him. He had recently sold his house in Michigan and his vacation home in the Villages and moved to this new home in Late August. We walked over and spent a while talking and catching him up on the people we have kept in touch with since he had lost track of everybody. We traded information and will certainly visit with them when we are back down this winter. We are heading home in the morning.
