Erie Club

January 10, 2015

Alesa went to the dentist on Wednesday morning then paddling in the afternoon while I went for a blood test before my 6 month checkup in Gainesville next week. The cost of the medicine I am taking has gone up to $8,500 per month so I am happy that the VA is supplying it for $9 per month, a big difference. Thursday night was the January Erie Club meeting. After the pot luck dinner we had horse race night where 6 people line up in lanes and we bet on the race. I rolled 6 dice and each lane advanced the number of spaces as the number turned up. I didn't race since I was the roller but Alesa raced once but lost in a roll off after a dead heat with another person/horse. We bet on all 5 races but only won once. It was an enjoyable evening. Next month is Smith's Hot Dog night. It has been cold here lately with frost warnings the last 2 or 3 nights but it warms up a little during the day. Alesa's paddling was cancelled yesterday since it was so cold and windy. Jeff called yesterday to say they are coming down during Easter break so we are excited. Today was sunny and warmer (above 60) and we golfed. Things are crowded down here since the snowbirds are back. Jeff also called today to tell us Bailey had won third place in the slalom at Ski Roundtop. Yea, Bailey!
