Happy Pi Day

March 14, 2015

Today is a special Pi day because at 9:26 and 53 seconds it was 3.141592653 which are the 10 most significant digits in the mathematical value of pi (you know, pi r squared). Oh, well it was interesting to me and Alesa didn't think much of it either. Today, Alesa drummed for the Silver Dragons at the Tavares Dragon Boat Festival. It's a nice little town and they had quite a festival with vendor booths and good entertainment. It was quite windy on Lake Dora at times and a couple of boats got swamped. One team wouldn't be denied because they stayed in their swamped boat and paddled it to the finish line and back to the shore. Tavares is known as the Seaplane City because it has a seaplane base and they build custom seaplanes in town. There were 2 of the custom seaplanes flying in and out all day. They were cool as they landed on the water and taxied up the boat ramp and parked in the parking lot. We also got to watch the Orange Blossom Cannonball come in and out of town.
