The Quinns

March 26, 2015

Monday I went to an advanced acoustic guitar club meeting. I didn't take my guitar as I was just interested in what they did. There were about 40 players there and after a half an hour of learning new techniques they played and sang together as each member would select a song. There were a couple of violins and banjos there as well. They were all very good. Today I went to another meeting which wasn't quite as advanced. There were about 30 players there and it was a better fit for me so I hope to find the time to participate. I am also going to take a guitar course at the Lifelong Learning College to improve my skills. On Wednesday, Alesa's sister Michelle Quinn from Raleigh stopped by with her family, Tom, Elizabeth and Thomas. The kids are getting big and Elizabeth will be going to college next year. We had lunch here and after a 2 hour tour of the villages, they headed off to Universal Studios. After a busy day today, we met Paul and Carol at Bunni Dawson's house for a picnic with them, Bunni, Ann and Ed Dawson and Ann's sister (and my cousin) Cathy Bauer who is down visiting with them. Last evening we golfed with Ed and Larry Carullo who did very well for his first time out. We are now awaiting the arrival of Jeff and his family for a week's visit. They will leave home early tomorrow morning and are driving down. Alesa has been asked to drum again for the Silver Dragon Boat race team so she has been getting up early this week to practice on the lake for Saturday's race.
