Picked up Mike at the Phoenix Airport at noon on Christmas Day. We then had a very nice Christmas celebration at our house. Today, I attended a video conference with the VA on the spine, which I was required to do before I could get physical therapy with them.

Celebrated Christmas Eve with Jeff and family and Facetimed with Mike and his girls back in Phoenixville. It is the first party held in our new home and it went very well. Jeff had smoked a ham and Bridget made a nice vegetable plate, to name a couple of highlights of a very nice night.

Continue to settle in and get ready for Christmas. Today is Alesa's birthday and we went to the Queen Creek olive mill then to dinner at Baci's Italian Bistro. She really liked Baci's when went during a previous visit.

Pretty much settled but still moving things around. We have been going to the gym (Esporta) with Jeff and I joined yesterday through my supplemental insurance. Still finishing organizing the garage but I am now able to find everything I need.

As you can imagine we have been quite busy setting up our home. I’ve had two appointments at the Phoenix VA just getting established. Most will be done at a local VA clinic but I had to go to Phoenix for these two. Hematology/Oncology on Tuesday and Cardiology on Thursday.

We had Stanley Steamer clean the carpets on the 16th coordinated by Jeff. We had our first tour of the house when we arrived on the 17th and made a list of the changes needed. Starting with a good cleaning. We left the Florida house spotless and patched all the holes.

Left Florida on Tuesday morning to start the journey of four 500-mile days to Gilbert, Arizona. North on I-75 then west on I-10 to Biloxi, Mississippi for the first night. Wednesday morning, west on I-10 to Seguin, Texas just east of San Antonio for the second night.

In addition to all the packing, staging and prep work we spent the day at Craig and Janet’s on Wednesday the 1st. Had dinner with the Stones on Thursday and with the Fales on Saturday. On Tuesday, a mobile notary came to the house for us to sign all the paperwork for the Arizona closing.

Yesterday was the last day of Sunday Golf here in the Villages. We have golfed every Sunday with the same group since we arrived except when we were travelling.

We have sold our house so things have been very hectic around here. We received an offer on the first of October. After back-and-forth negotiations, we settled on a deal at a fair price and we had moved the requested closing date back to December.
