Tuesday we went to the Erie Maritime Museum for a tour of the museum and the Flagship Niagara. We then went out to Ripley to visit Aunt Janet who is visiting her mother for much of the summer. While in Ripley we had lunch at Meeder's, the local diner/restaurant.
Trip Log
Yesterday wss Independence Day and we all went to a picnic. A big thanks to Ray and Debbie Winghart for the invite to their family soiree where we all had an outstanding time.
Saturday night a storm blew up quickly and we got a little rain and everyone slept inside. Sunday morning the kids rode their bikes around camp and got to know the neighbors and their dogs.
On the 29th we picked up the trailer, parked it on the street in front of the house and finished packing most of our ‘stuff’ for the summer in Erie. The grandkids were dropped off that night and the next morning we packed their ‘stuff’ along with what we needed until the last minute.
We have started loading up the trailer for our summer in Erie. We will be leaving on the 30th with all 4 of the grandkids for a week of Camp NanaPapa.
Had a relaxing birthday although the kids got up at 5:30 and I didn't get to bed until 1:30 after the Phillies game. Today we had breakfast at the diner, worked outside in the yard and went to the pool before Jeff and Danielle picked up the kids and the dog this afternoon.
It has been a busy week with all the usual activities. Alesa upgraded my Blackberry to a Samsung Charge Droid for my birthday so that has kept me busy. This afternoon Alesa picked up Bailey and Bridget after the school bus and brought them back for the weekend.
This was Ellie's birthday weekend and she wanted to go to New York and see the Statue of Liberty and we were happy to oblige her. We got up early Saturday and picked her up at 6 on the way. We arrived at Liberty State Park in NJ, through security and on the ferry at about 8:30.
Tonight we went over to Mike's to attend the annual concert at Overlook elementary. Ellie plays the violin and is in the string ensemble while Anni is in the beginners strings and plays the cello. They were, of course, the best and prettiest performers in the entire concert..
