Trip Log

July 15, 2011

Today Mike and Jeff and their families returned home and all have arrived safely. Alesa and I spent the day resting and getting things set up for the rest of the summer. Yesterday the kids spent some time here and Jeff and I went for a motorcycle ride to Ripley and back.

We are starting to slow down. Monday the kids were off with their families and yesterday Janet, Becca, baby Lola and all the family went to the zoo to visit as Becca and Lola were flying back to Omaha this morning. After the zoo we all went to Georges for a late lunch.

Sunday is the last day of this year's Camp NanaPapa. We went shopping this morning for the food for the closing ceremony this evening. You may have noticed that we did a lot of shopping during camp because the refrigerator in the camper is relatively small and we can't stock up.

Saturday turned into a very quiet day, the kids didn't even ride their bikes. Aunt Janet, her daughter Rebecca and her daughter Lola came to camp for a visit. Jeff and Danielle arrived this afternoon and Bailey and Bridget spent the night with them at Uncle Bob and Aunt Cathy's.

July 9, 2011

We finally made it to Waldameer on Thursday after 'Mighty Fine' donuts in the morning. Everyone had a great time at both the amusement park and the water park.

July 8, 2011

Thursday my cousin Frank with his daughter Caitlin put his boat in at the marina and took us through the channel to do some tubing as the lake was a little rough. The kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves and Frank even let Bailey drive the boat back through the channel.

Wednesday morning we went to breakfast at George's diner (or dinor, if preferred), to Urbaniak's for Smith's bologna and Topp's for groceries. It was supposed to rain (but never did) so we postponed our trip to Waldameer until Friday.

July 5, 2011

Tuesday we went to the Erie Maritime Museum for a tour of the museum and the Flagship Niagara. We then went out to Ripley to visit Aunt Janet who is visiting her mother for much of the summer. While in Ripley we had lunch at Meeder's, the local diner/restaurant.

July 5, 2011

Yesterday wss Independence Day and we all went to a picnic. A big thanks to Ray and Debbie Winghart for the invite to their family soiree where we all had an outstanding time.

July 4, 2011

Saturday night a storm blew up quickly and we got a little rain and everyone slept inside. Sunday morning the kids rode their bikes around camp and got to know the neighbors and their dogs.
