Forgot to mention that we got our names on our golf cart the other day. It's more of a courtesy to the other residents because you meet so many people it's hard to remember names and since everybody drives golf carts it like wearing name tags. (No!
Trip Log
Mike and family came for a visit and yesterday was his birthday. They went to the Eagles-Bucs game on Sunday with their friends, the Abbates from Mt. Dora and they all came over here afterwards.
Tracy's daughter Toni was married to Gordon Erndt this evening in St. Petersburg with a reception at the Post Card Inn in St. Pete's Beach. Since it's less than 100 miles we drove down and back the same day. All of Alesa's siblings were there less Dave.
We continue to try and golf all the courses but are busy with a lot of other activities as well. We bought a lawnmower yesterday and on the way home bought a sleeper sofa at a thrift store. They will deliver it tomorrow. I mowed the lawn before a much needed rain hit.
Our new furniture came yesterday so we are getting closer, to what I don't know. We got a double reclining couch and a reclining chair and my old recliner is in the guest bedroom.
Yesterday, Alesa went dragon boating and had a great time while I stayed home, visited with all the neighbors and installed donuts around 10 of the sprinkler heads of our irrigation system. Today we bought 34 more and hopefully I can get them installed in the next few days.
Wednesday we a attended a 'new residents' welcome session where various service organizations set up end explained their services. Thursday we drove down to Orlando to shop at Ikea and the Premium Outlets. We drove down International Drive then by Disney before heading home through Claremont.
Monday we were trained on our heating/air conditioning system and then they sent someone over to get rid of the hum created in the return air vent in our bedroom. When he got here and we asked "Why does it hum?", he said "Because it doesn't know the words". But, he fixed it anyway.
Yesterday we drove down to Zack and Cathy's (60 miles) for Jamie's first birthday party. Many relatives were there so we had a good chance to visit, afterwards Craig and Janet followed us home and spent the night.
Today we went back to the driving range to practice our short game. Alesa & Carol went off to Dragon boats and Paul & I followed in the golf car, ate peanuts and had a couple of beers at Cody's while we watched them work.
