Two days before we close on our house. Yesterday I attended the World of Beer pre-grand-opening with the Home Brew club. It was a great time and the beer was good too. Alesa played Bunco and had a good time as well.
Trip Log
After a short hiatus our blog is back. Don't know the problem but our administrator (Mike) was out of the country (Montreal) so we didn't bother him but he got back last night and it's up. We have been busy shopping for couches, deciding and changing.
Today we went to Ocala to shop for furniture and found a couch, loveseat and chair we liked at Rooms to Go (but in red). Also shopped at Sam's Club and Famous Footwear. Also looked at an number of Golf Car dealers on the way back to the villages.
We spent two nights at 3 flags and moved today to Red Oaks in Bushnell, the locals put the accent on the second syllable. We have stayed here every year we have camped in Florida, it's not fancy but it is one of our favorite places. When we pulled in today, Alesa said, "Now we are in Florida".
We drove the last 150 miles and are camped at the 3 flags resort in Wildwood. We stopped at the bank to set up on-line banking and check our balance, then to the mortgage company to make sure our ducks are in a row.
We are camped at the Golden Isles RV Park in Georgia just above the Florida line. We have about 150 miles to go to The Villages and should be there by early tomorrow afternoon. Today was our longest day, about 380 miles so we are quite tired.
Another great day of travel and the weather was beautiful. We drove down I-81 then on I-77 to Statesville, just north of Charlotte, and are camped at the KOA. We had a great dinner at the Golden Corral and are now relaxing in our 'home'.
After a good nights sleep we packed up and headed south with me driving the truck pulling the trailer and Alesa following in the Hyundai. We traded the tall corn and yellow tobacco plants of the Amish for the green mountains of the Shenandoah Valley.
As of 10AM this morning we were homeless and not paying property taxes. Yesterday they picked up the trailer at 9:30 and we pulled our RV trailer in front of the house and loaded it up. If we never see another set of stairs it will be too soon.
Our buyers, the Randazzos, did the final walk through at noon today and we are doubly excited because they are so excited to be moving into our house. They also brought some fragile items they didn't trust the movers with.
