Early Friday morning Mike and Annika hiked with a group at Valley Forge park and afterwards we met them for breakfast at G-Lodge. We went back to the motel and checked out since the main street will be blocked off for the weekend starting that afternoon.
Trip Log
Off to Phoenixville and the Mainstay Inn by way of the George Washington bridge. We unpacked and walked to Mike’s house and we all walked back to town and had dinner at the Sedona Tap House.
Said our goodbyes and thank-yous to Steve & Laura for another great visit and went to Haverhill, Mass and had dinner at ‘The Peddler’s Daughter’, an Irish bar in downtown Haverhill. The Guiness was good, Alesa had a salad and I had fish and chips.
Steve drove us to Canada today and we had to get started early because they are an hour ahead of us and we are visiting Ministers Island where you can only visit during low tide because you have to drive on a 'roadway' that is only exposed during low tide.
The ladies took a walk while Steve and I changed a tire on his truck, installed a new Bimini top on his boat and rehung the address sign at the end of their driveway.
Laura & Alesa went back to Pickleball this morning while I didn't. Steve's last day of guiding while we are here so Laura drove us down to Machiasport and the shore at Jasper Beach.
Steve will be guiding through tomorrow, so, yesterday we went with Laura to a pickleball class. I helped the instructor by hitting balls to the class. There was open play afterward and I played one game at the end.
Took the Southern Tier Expressway to Binghamton, I-88 to Albany and route 9 to Brattleboro, VT. A 421-mile trip with good weather and traffic. We stayed at the Comfort Inn & Suites and walked to the '99' restaurant for dinner.
Left Bob & Cathy's this morning to spend the day with Craig & Janet at their rental on Chautauqua Lake. We will spend the night and leave for Maine in morning.
Went to Calvary cemetery yesterday to visit Mom's, Frankie's and Marilyn's graves. We had not yet seen Marilyn's headstone.
