Tonight, Jeff and Bailey took me out shooting. There is an indoor range behind our old gym which Jeff has wanted to try. They provide the weapons and you buy the ammunition and the range time. We went with 9mm and started with pistols and ended up with automatic rifles.
Trip Log
The other night, Alesa’s ribs really started to bother her. So, with the sudden increase in pain, as a caution we headed to the emergency room. The ribs had a slight fracture but there were no complications. There was nothing they could do but prescribe stronger meds.
Last Friday, Mike, our cross-street neighbor in The Villages, flew in and we picked him up at the airport. We all did a bit of hiking and a lot of touring. He and I spent a bit of time in the neighborhood hot tub and steam room, making all our aches feel a little better.
Alesa fell off her bike a few weeks ago and bruised some ribs so we are taking it slow while she is on the mend.
Got the pool heater fixed with our home warranty and are waiting for the weather to warm a bit more. Spent a lot of time planting in the front yard. We needed something to replace the tree and wanted a cactus, a Peruvian Pear cactus to be exact.
The salt cell has been installed for the pool. The flow sensor he installed was bad and it took a few days to find a replacement but, now it is in and operating. We still have a problem with the heater not turning off when it reaches the set temperature.
On the 1st we had a visit from our next-door neighbors from the Villages. Dan and Dale Marx landed in Phoenix on their way to a wedding in Tucson. So, they stopped for a visit on the way and to wait for the rest of their family to arrive.
Took a nice bike ride today around our extended blocks for over 9 miles and over an hour.
We celebrated the New Year on EST (10 PM MST) and went to bed. The time difference has also been good for football watching since the late games finish and we haven't missed our bedtime. Been busy and are just about at a 'home maintenance' mode.
We went to the Heard Museum in downtown Phoenix today. It is a native American museum about tribes across the USA. We took one tour and then toured on our own.
