I spoke with Uncle Bill this morning in Bismarck and he will be expecting our visit on Sunday or Monday.  It has been lightly raining most of the day but has just stopped and I see carts returning to the course.

We drove to the top of the hills behind Duluth and were treated to a grand overview of the city, the bay and the western end of Lake Superior.  We then continued to weave and dodge around the 15,000 lakes in Minnesota.  We crossed the Mississippi in Brainerd and then settled into the Forest Hills

Erie is having a three day event on the bayshore aimed at the motorcycle crowd.  It started with a ride, led by Peter Fonda, from the casino to Liberty Park.  We went downtown early for a chance to walk around.  We met the Selaney's (former neighbors) at Perry Square and caught up on old times.

August 10, 2007

We made it back to Erie yesterday afternoon after some thunderstorms and have registered at Lampe Campground until Sunday.  Tom Carroll, a good friend of the family and my brother Bob's best friend, passed away Tuesday.  We were able to attend the funeral mass this morning and the wake following.
