Alesa had her final appointment for the dry-eye study she is doing for Novartis and while we were in Mount Dora Steve and Laura took a walk around the neighborhood. They then took us out to lunch at Fish Camp on Lake Eustis in Tavares.
Trip Log
Alesa took Laura over to get a manicure while Steve and I chipped and putted on the practice green at the Bonifay country club. We all went to the Lake Griffin State Park for a nice hike then off to the practice green at the Palmer Legends country club.
Steve and Laura arrived from Apalachicola yesterday at around 3 in the afternoon. After a quick settling, visit and 'orientation' we walked over to the Bradenton pool to stretch their legs and Steve and I stopped for the mail and visited with neighbors on the way home.
We are all recovering from our maladies but the neighbors had to put their dog down, adding to the post-Easter Dafoe issues. We had a storm pass through last night and it blew down most of Alesa's cactus. She has replanted and propped up much of it and is offering the rest to the neighbors.
Had friends and neighbors over last Sunday for an Easter dinner. It was a good time and, as usual, Alesa prepared some excellent food and the leftovers are almost gone.
We are now into April and planning that this is our 'breakout' month when we head north to visit long lost relatives and friends.
We met Tim and Cheryl Maloney at the Monkey Bar in Homosassa for lunch. It's called the Monkey Bar because there is an island in the middle of the Homosassa River which has three spider monkeys living on it and the bar has a good view of the island.
Headed over to the Monkey Bar in Homosassa to meet friends from Erie who were staying the month just below Brooksville. I graduated from Prep with Tim Maloney and he and his wife, Cheryl, lived in The Villages and relocated back to Erie last year.
Our across-the-road neighbor, Mike, was due for his second Covid shot today so we drove him down to a Publix in Lutz. There is a lot of construction on I75 exits and we were talking and missed the exit so we just drove to the next one and came in the back way.
Alesa has been busy planting everywhere and I ripped out my winter batch of peas and have planted a new crop. The lemon tree has blossoms everywhere and the peach tree is just starting. Alesa has planted beans, beets, radishes, arugula, cabbage, tomatoes and all types of herbs.
